Actress and singer Zendaya doesn't believe people need to spend a fortune on make-up.
The 19-year-old has built up a cult following thanks to her experimental style, ever changing hair styles and various make-up looks, but despite having access to the top brands in both fashion and beauty, the K.C. Undercover star likes to keep things real by visiting the cosmetics counter at her local drugstore.
"I love experimenting with drugstore make-up," she confessed to Elle.com. "You'd be surprised how good the eye shadows are. One of my favourites is the CoverGirl TruNaked Eye Shadow Palette.
"Lipsticks in general, they come and go, and drugstores have a gazillion colours for everything you want to do - you don't have to pay $70 a lipstick (sic). That's so unnecessary. Three dollar or four dollar each (sic). I like CoverGirl's Outlast Lipstain in Nude Kiss; it's my go-to for a long day."
While Zendaya likes trying out new make-up looks, she isn't afraid to go au naturale when she's off duty because she is "very proud" of her skin and her face.
"I don't wear make-up because I feel like I need to cover myself up or because I don't feel confident," she explained. "I wear make-up because it's fun; it's like painting on my face."
Like cosmetics, Zendaya likes to play with her hair style and has sported everything from cornrows to a mullet, dreadlocks to a full head of curls on the red carpet, but without damaging her natural tresses.
"I try to wear as many wigs as possible and not put any heat on my hair," she added. "I wash it every other day or every three days, and I love CHI's Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner Duo. I work with them, but I really think their products are the best.
"I like to keep my hair pretty natural. After cleansing I'll scrunch it up with a little product to help my curl pattern. And once or twice a week, I put coconut oil through my hair and let it sit. I'll use any grocery-store brand, as long as it's 100 per cent real coconut oil."See more at:vintage prom dresses
